What’s covered

The unique benefits Supercover are offering to your Taxi policyholders includes:

• Cover up to the value of £1,000 per policy

• Free backup and live Sync on all policies.

What’s not covered

It’s important to note the following significant exclusions/limitations:

There is no cover for extended warranty.

Theft of a gadget from a vehicle containing passengers will only be covered if the items, when not in use is concealed on or about the person, or concealed in a closed internal compartment.

The maximum amount payable under this policy is £1000 in any period of insurance.

All gadgets must be less than 36 months old at policy inception.

What is classified as a gadget?

A gadget is describe as a ‘portable electronic device’ bought in the UK and up to a value of £1,000. This includes:

• Mobile Phones and iPhones
• Tablets and iPads
• Sat-Nav Units
• Two-Way Radio or Handheld Radios
• Header Unit (the job sender terminal)
• Laptops, Tablets and iPads
• MP3, MP4 Players and iPod
• Cameras and eReaders

Excess Fees:

• £25 for any claim made for a gadget up to the value of £250 (when new).
• £50 for any claim made for a gadget between the values of £251 - £500 (when new).
• £75 for any claim made for a gadget over the value of £501 (when new). 

Important Information:

• The cover is for portable devices only and would not apply to fixed-installation items such as an installed journey meter - or built in car-FM radio.
• There is a single article limit of £1000.
• There is no limit on number of claims but the maximum liability is the overall cover value.
• Theft from unattended vehicle is covered - as long as vehicle is secured and there is evidence of forcible entry.
• Portable gadgets left unattended in vehicle must be concealed (glovebox, boot etc) and not left in plain view.
• Free gadget cover will only be given while having a current/valid taxi policy with Markerstudy. Cover is free at inception and each subsequent renewal and continues to be free as long as the valid taxi policy is in force.
• There is no need for the devices to be individually registered.
• We will need evidence of ownership in the event of a claim i.e. a valid receipt.
• We will only cover gadgets bought in the UK and with a valid receipt.
